Krista Stovel is a designer based in Portland, Oregon.
I am a versatile and passionate creative, bringing a broad range of skills to any innovative, design-driven company. Over a decade ago, I co-founded Make It Good and Nell & Mary, which were rebranded as North of West in 2017. As Creative Director and Art Director from 2012 to 2022, I shaped the visual aesthetic across our women’s and children’s apparel, home, and retail divisions. I directed all photoshoots, oversaw print and product design, and curated materials and color palettes. As the brand grew, I expanded my expertise in print design, color theory, and material selection, and collaborated on creating our award-winning retail storefront in downtown Portland, also serving as curator and merchandiser.
I hold a BFA in Interior Design from the Design Institute of San Diego and a BA in Art History from the University of Washington.
Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, swimming in cold rivers on warm days, inventing new recipes, and hiking and biking with my family.
